Recently, I was trying out two open source password managers, namely KeePass and PasswordSafe. Why these? I read good reviews for them and both are offline in nature, which suits me.

While going through the features of KeePass, which I tried first, I noted that it has an importer that allows us to load a PasswordSafe database into KeePass. This is a good feature in case we decide to switch from PasswordSafe to KeePass.

But, PasswordSafe does not have a feature to import a KeePass database. That go me thinking. Hence I wrote a two-file Java program to do just that. If you have a KeePass database exported to an XML format, this application will convert it into a PasswordSafe acceptable XML format.

I will post the source code in the next post.
