Wind turbines are being installed in multiple places for Wind farming. Most wind turbines can be moved so that the blades are always pointing into the wind, for best output.
In stormy conditions, the surface area of the blades can create additional surface for wind resistance. If the wind is high speed, this resistance may cause the wind turbine to topple.
Wind turbine design such that the blades of the turbine can be moved/rotated around the turning axis so that all blades can be aligned. In others, in stormy conditions, we can turn the blades such that they are one after the other and also placed behind/before the wind turbine column.
This arrangement will reduce the wind profile of the turbine and thus reduce its drag.
