In the SEEPZ area where I work, there are huge Baobab trees. In fact, this is one of the places in the whole of Mumbai to find these rare trees, which are not native to India.
Baobab trees shed their leaves during the winter season and become bare around December-January, after which hey become green with leaves.
Recently, one of the trees (shown above) ear the SEEPZ lake, keeled over. The probable reason for its fall was that on one side of the tree is the lake and probably the roots of the tree were exposed by the sloping ground.
What a sad sight.
