Recently, the popular Airtel advertisement ‘jo ter hai woh mer hai’ was presented on Marathi television, with the words being in Marathi.

While not many may have noticed, the translation has a problem. It has been converted to Marathi as ‘jo tujha aahe to maza aahe’, which is grammatically incorrect.

While not being pedantic (to the extent of calling a railway – loha path gamini agni rath – borrowed from the hindi movie Chupke Chupke) about words in a language, the correct translation should have been ‘je tujha aahe te maza aahe’.

Not just Airtel, there are many such instances, where the translation is
incorrect.
